aihops speaks MCP, the Model Context Protocol: the open standard AI apps use to work with other services. Connect it once, and Claude or ChatGPT can put documents on aihops, share them, tell you who's read what, and make the next version from everyone's mark-up, all as you, in the conversation.
What you can ask for
- "Put this one-pager on aihops and share it with Sam and Priya."
- "Who hasn't opened the pricing proposal?" "What's overdue?"
- "What did legal say about clause 7?"
- "Did they fix the GST in v4?"
- "Work through the comments and make v3."
- "Review the contract Rita sent, as our CFO would."
aihops serves the tools itself, so they're always current, and they're the same for Claude and ChatGPT. The full list is in the tool reference.
Before you start
- An aihops account. It's free: sign up with your email or Google.
- A Claude or ChatGPT plan that lets you add plugins or connectors of your own. On a Team, Enterprise or Business plan, an admin may need to allow them first.
Claude: claude.ai, Desktop and Cowork
The aihops plugin is the connector plus four skills that know how to share, follow up, apply feedback and review. It's the easiest way in.
- Download the plugin from aihops.com.au/claude. Keep it zipped.
- In Claude, open Customize, then Plugins. Choose Add, then Upload plugin, and pick the zip.
- Open the plugin's Connectors tab and choose Connect beside aihops.
- Sign in to aihops in the window that opens, as you always do.
- Read what Claude will be able to do. Tick Let Claude make changes if you want it to upload, share and comment as you. Choose Connect.
Claude Desktop and Cowork use the plugins on your claude.ai account, so you do this once. The Claude apps for iPhone and Android pick it up too, with nothing more to do.
Claude Code
You need Claude Code 2.1.224 or later (claude --version; claude update if not). In a session, add aihops's marketplace and install the plugin:
/plugin marketplace add https://aihops.com.au/claude/marketplace.json
/plugin install aihops@aihops
Then run /mcp, choose aihops and Authenticate. Your browser opens to sign in and agree, as above. To stay current, open /plugin, choose Marketplaces, aihops, then Enable auto-update.
Only the tools, without the plugin
If you'd rather add just the connector, its address is:
https://app.aihops.com.au/mcp
- claude.ai: Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http aihops https://app.aihops.com.au/mcp
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open your settings and find where you add your own connectors or apps. If it asks, turn on developer mode.
- Add a custom MCP server or connector: name aihops, URL
https://app.aihops.com.au/mcp, authentication OAuth. Leave any client id and secret empty: ChatGPT identifies itself to aihops on its own. - Choose Connect, sign in to aihops, tick Let ChatGPT make changes if you want it to, and choose Connect.
- Turn aihops on in a conversation and ask: "What's on aihops for me?"
OpenAI decides which plans can add connectors, and it changes. The ChatGPT guide has the details.
Reading, and making changes
A connection reads only, unless you tick Let Claude make changes (or ChatGPT) when you connect. Even then, the AI asks before each change, and before anything that tells another person, unless you choose to always allow it.
Some things stay in the browser. No AI app can delete anything, make anyone an owner or remove them, change how a document is shared, share private notes with everyone, or touch groups, personas, email choices or billing through aihops.
The AI sees only what you can see, and everything it does is in the history as you, marked "through Claude" or "through ChatGPT". To change your mind about changes, disconnect and connect again.
Disconnecting
On your Account page, choose Disconnect beside the connection. It stops straight away. A connection unused for 30 days ends on its own, and deleting your account ends every connection.
When something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No way to add a plugin or connector | Your plan, or your workspace's admin, doesn't allow them yet. |
| "This connection can only read" | Remove aihops, add it again, and tick Let Claude make changes. |
| Asked to sign in again | Connect again. This happens after you disconnect, or after 30 days unused. |
| "Can't do that through aihops" | It's one of the things only the browser does. Open app.aihops.com.au. |
| 402, and your AI allowance | Your AI uses for aihops's own reviews are used up. Your Account page shows them. |
